    In the organ-saxophone duo of Didier Matry and Luise Volkmann, two contrasting individuals from different generations and paths in life come together through music. They have been experimenting and performing in Paris since 2016, blending the alto saxophone and church organ in various churches. The recording, made in the dimly lit St. Augustin church in Paris in 2018, exudes mysticism and power.
The duo's contemporary music takes on a unique hue due to the spiritual ambiance. The music lyrically reflects the grandeur and eerie atmosphere of the centrally located Saint Augustin church in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. The recording setting enhances the theme of "desires," capturing hopeful, stubborn, and dreamy aspirations. Didier Matry's partly baroque improvisational style blends with Luise Volkmann's melodic and noise improvisations, resulting in transcendent music. The recurring themes and energetic outbursts add an exciting dimension to the album.
Titled "Wishes," Luise Volkmann's CD pays respectful homage to the religious setting of the church while creating a space for devotion beyond religious boundaries through music.
