Die Saxofonistin und Flötistin Luise Volkmann hat in Leipzig studiert, mit Berliner Musikern gearbeitet, eine eher zufällige Connection nach Schweden aufgebaut und lebt seit zwei Jahren in Paris.

Sie ist eine passionierte Geschichtenerzählerin oder eine feinsinnige Porträtmalerin, was sich ja im besten Fall gegenseitig bedingt. Im Mittelpunkt jedes ihrer Stücke steht immer die Story, die sie erzählen will. Auf „Eudaimonia“ sind das intime Sichtweisen auf Menschen, die für ihr eigenes Leben Lösungen gefunden und sie auf diese Weise inspiriert haben.

Ihre Kompositionen sind von großer Komplexität und noch größerer Formenvielfalt, und doch sind sie in ihrer erzählerischen Struktur einfach nachvollziehbar, abwechslungsreich und kurzweilig. Dass der jungen Musikerin dieser Spagat bereits auf ihrer Debüt-CD auf sehr hohem Niveau gelingt, ist nicht nur ungewöhnlich, sondern auch spannend und verheißungsvoll. Auf „Eudaimonia“ gibt Luise Volkmann ihren furiosen Einstand als Meisterin der musikalischen Erzählung.
